Chandigarh Administration Relieves IAS Vinod P. Kawle, Two officers assigned additional charges

Chandigarh: In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Chandigarh administration has reallocated responsibilities in the aftermath of the departure of IAS Vinod P. Kawle. This move follows the footsteps of the earlier relieving of IAS Yashpal Garg. As a result of these changes, the mantle of several key departments is currently being shouldered through additional charge arrangements due to the absence of new appointees.

The latest change involves IAS Vinod P. Kawle, who has been relieved from his duties within the Chandigarh administration. In a strategic maneuver, Home Secretary Nitin Kumar Yadav has been entrusted with additional responsibilities spanning several departments. These changes were executed on the directives of Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit, seeking to ensure a seamless transition during these alterations.

Prior to his departure, Vinod P. Kawle was overseeing nine crucial departments as the Secretary. The reins of these departments will remain under the purview of Home Secretary Nitin Kumar Yadav until further instructions. Consequently, Nitin Kumar Yadav has been assigned the roles of Secretary for Food Supply and Consumer Affairs, Culture, Labor and Employment, Sports, Public Relations, Printing and Stationery, Cooperation, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries Department.

In addition to these changes, the role of Joint Secretary for Home and Jail has been designated to HCS (Haryana Civil Services) officer Sumit Sihag. It is worth noting that the prompt relief of IAS Vinod P. Kawle from his position within the Chandigarh administration has been undertaken to facilitate his transition to his new role in the government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi.
