Bomb Blast in Peshawar Claims Life of Security Guard, Several Injured

PESHAWAR: A Bomb Blast targeting a security forces vehicle near a hospital in Peshawar, Pakistan, on Monday has resulted in the tragic death of one paramilitary jawan and left several others injured, including four personnel. The incident occurred in front of the Prime Hospital on Warsak Road in Peshawar, the capital of the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

According to a statement from a senior police officer, the attack specifically targeted Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel. The explosion resulted in the destruction of five FC vehicles and caused injuries to the officer and three civilians. Initial assessments suggest that the attack was carried out using an improvised explosive device (IED), though a comprehensive investigation into the incident is currently underway.

This unsettling incident follows a wave of violence in the region, as just last week, four Pakistani soldiers lost their lives, with seven others sustaining injuries in an attack by Taliban militants on two border posts located in the Chitral district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
