Nuh Violence Case: Congress MLA Mamman Khan Arrested by Haryana Police

NUH, HARYANA: Congress MLA Mamman Khan, representing Firozpur Jhirka, was arrested by Haryana Police late on Thursday night in connection with the Nuh violence case. DSP Satish Kumar confirmed the arrest, stating that Mamman Khan is scheduled to appear in court today (Sept 15, Friday).

The Haryana government informed the High Court on Thursday that Congress MLA Mamman Khan had been named as an accused in one of the FIRs registered concerning the communal violence that occurred in Nuh on July 31. Authorities claim to possess substantial evidence against Mamman Khan, leading to his arrest. The state government’s legal counsel made this assertion during the hearing on Khan’s petition in the Punjab Haryana High Court on Thursday. Mamman Khan had filed a petition seeking relief from potential punitive actions against him.

Sources indicate that Khan has been implicated as an accused in an FIR filed in connection with the communal violence at Nuh’s Nagina police station. Police investigations allegedly uncovered phone communication between Khan and a suspect named Muhammad Tawfiq, who had already been arrested in relation to the violence. Notably, Mamman Khan was summoned for questioning on August 31 but failed to appear, citing health issues.
