CM Mann Writes to Governor over Release of Outstanding RDF Funds for Rural Development

CHANDIGARH: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken a decisive step in addressing the urgent need for funds to resume rural development projects in Punjab. CM Mann has written a formal letter to Governor Banwari Lal Purohit, highlighting the issue of the pending release of Rs 5,637 crores in Rural Development Fund (RDF) by the central government. The delay in disbursing these funds has severely impeded ongoing development initiatives in various villages, prompting the Chief Minister to seek the governor’s intervention in resolving the matter at the highest level of government.

In his communication to Governor Purohit, CM Mann expressed deep concern over the halt in development activities due to the lack of adequate funding. He emphasized the critical role that RDF plays in bolstering rural infrastructure and socio-economic growth. The non-release of funds has hindered vital projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life and livelihood opportunities for villagers across the state.
