Panjab University Ranked 21st Nationally in Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2024

CHANDIGARH: Times Higher Education, a reputed global ranking entity, revealed its highly anticipated World University Ranking 2024, unveiling a remarkable enhancement in Panjab University’s standing. The institution has made notable progress, shifting from the 800 to 1000 bracket in the previous rankings to a commendable placement in the 501-600 bracket this year.

Despite securing an impressive research quality score of 3, Panjab University faces challenges in terms of international outlook. In the regional context, Shoolini University of Biotechnology and Management Sciences in Solan emerges as a front-runner, securing a position amongst the top four universities after the prestigious Indian Institute of Science.

Within the 501-600 bracket, Panjab University shares the limelight with esteemed institutions like Anna University, Jamia Millia Islamia, and Mahatma Gandhi University. In the overall national ranking, based on scoring, PU is positioned at an impressive 21st place, showcasing its growing academic prowess. Shoolini University secures a notable second place in the national ranking.

In addition to Panjab University, the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology also receives recognition, securing a place in the 601-800 bracket. Panjab University excels in research quality, boasting a score of 20.37 points in this criterion, a score matched only by the seven universities that previously held the 20th position. This enhanced ranking signifies a positive trajectory for Panjab University, underlining its commitment to academic excellence and research advancement.
