Triple Murder: Brother, Sister-in-Law, & Nephew Brutally Slain, Bodies Discarded in Canals

KHARAR: A Horrific and tragic event unfolded in Kharar city, Mohali, where a man is alleged to have brutally murdered his own brother, sister-in-law, and nephew. The suspect, identified as Lakhbir Singh, has been taken into police custody as investigations are underway to shed light on the motive behind this gruesome act.

The shocking incident occurred in the Global City area of Sunny Enclave. The family, originally from Barnala, had moved to Kharar where the victim, Satbir Singh, had established his own web designing business and settled with his wife, Amandeep Kaur, and their young son.

According to police reports, the accused, Lakhbir Singh, callously disposed of the bodies of his brother and sister-in-law in the Ropar canal. He attempted to destroy evidence by throwing the lifeless body of their 2-year-old son, Anhad, into the Morinda Canal. The police promptly retrieved the child’s body, although his identity remains undisclosed at this time. A case has been registered against the accused.

Preliminary investigations suggest a possible motive behind this heinous act, a dispute over property between the accused and his deceased brother. The family had a history of disagreements on this matter, leading to frequent disputes. It is believed that the accused, embroiled in a sinister plot to seize the family’s assets, orchestrated this brutal assault. Police are reviewing CCTV footage and suspect the involvement of accomplices in the crime.

In the initial stages of the investigation, police have ascertained that Lakhbir Singh assaulted his brother, fatally striking him on the head. Subsequently, he allegedly strangled Satbir’s wife to death using a piece of cloth. The bodies were later disposed of in the nearby canals. DSP of Kharar, Karan Sandhu, confirmed an ongoing investigation into the matter, revealing the probable cause as a deep-rooted family feud. Lakhbir Singh remains in custody, undergoing further interrogation.
