Mohali-At Sector-66 today, under the leadership of senior Congress leader and former Health Minister S. Balbir Singh Sidhu, the Congress Party received a major boost when more than two dozen families announced their decision to join the party, inspired by the Congress’s policies and S. Balbir Singh Sidhu’s people-centric vision.
On this occasion, S. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that Congress is the only party that stands as the voice of every section of society. He added that people are uniting today to give a fitting response to the Punjab Government, whose anti-people policies are causing harm to the state. He said that this wave in favour of the Congress would grow even stronger in the times to come.
Balbir Singh Sidhu inducted Harjeet Abrawan, Mukesh Kumar, Avtar Kaur, Manjeet Singh, retired Punjab State Electricity Board employee Kulwant Singh, Pinder Kaur (wife of Kulwant Singh), Suresh Chand Saxena, Raj Kumar Reddy, Himmat Kumar Reddy, Rajinder Meni (Superintendent, PSEB), Sukhdev Kaur, Manjeet Kaur, Sita Ji, retired DC office Superintendent Kuldeep Chand, and PSPCL retiree Maninder Kaur (wife of Kuldeep Chand), among others, into the Congress Party.
Welcoming all those who joined, S. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the entry of experienced, service-minded people deeply connected with society is proof that the public is placing its trust in the party’s policies and its spirit of struggle.
Sidhu said that this induction has further strengthened the Congress Party’s position in Sector-66 and surrounding areas, and is a clear indication that people are now fully prepared for change.
Assuring full respect and honour to all workers and leaders who joined, S. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the Congress Party is not merely a political platform, but an ideology of service, struggle, and public welfare. All new entrants will be entrusted with responsibilities according to their abilities and dedication, enabling them to play an active role in strengthening the party in their respective areas.
Those present at the induction event unanimously said that the common man has grown weary due to the present government’s anti-people policies, inflation, unemployment, and lack of basic facilities. They stated that the work done by S. Balbir Singh Sidhu in the fields of health, development, and public welfare continues to inspire people even today, which is why they are coming together under the Congress banner to fight for the rights of Punjab.
Sidhu said that this gathering has infused new energy into the Congress wave in the area and serves as a clear warning to opponents that in the coming elections, people will make the right choice.
