MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira Claims Vindication: Gurugram Police Arrest Two in Forensic Evidence Fabrication Probe

Chandigarh — Gurugram Police have arrested two individuals, identified as Ankit and Arun, in connection with an investigation into the alleged fabrication of forensic evidence linked to a controversial viral sacrilege video case involving Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

According to police sources, the arrests were made after a complaint was filed by a forensic expert who raised concerns about possible tampering and irregularities in the preparation of a disputed forensic report. Investigators are now examining digital records, communications, and other evidence to determine whether there was any coordinated effort to manipulate the case’s findings.

Officials said the probe is still in its early stages and further questioning of the accused is underway. Authorities are also looking into whether any additional individuals, including intermediaries or officials, may be linked to the alleged fabrication process.

The development has triggered a strong political reaction in Punjab. Congress leader and Bholath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira claimed that the arrests validate his earlier allegations that the forensic report was “fabricated” to influence the outcome of the case. He said the latest police action amounts to confirmation of what he had publicly disclosed days earlier.

Khaira has demanded a full and impartial investigation into the matter and reiterated his call for accountability at the highest level. He alleged that the incident reflects a deeper attempt to manipulate evidence in a politically sensitive case and insisted that all those involved, regardless of position, should face strict legal action.

He also intensified his attack on the Punjab government, demanding moral responsibility and transparency in handling the controversy. Khaira said the developments have seriously damaged public trust and called for corrective steps, including accountability of those responsible for the disputed forensic process.

Police officials, meanwhile, have maintained that the investigation is ongoing and have not commented on the political allegations. The case continues to develop and is expected to see further legal and political escalation in the coming days.
