Srinagar-Congress MLA and senior party leader Pargat Singh attended the SSA-2 district-wise screening meeting of the District Congress Committee (DCC) Udhampur at Congress Bhawan in Srinagar, as the party stepped up organisational preparations and grassroots-level planning in Jammu & Kashmir.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of AICC General Secretary and Jammu & Kashmir in-charge Nasir Hussain. Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Tariq Karra, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Leader G.A. Mir, AICC Secretary Divya Maderna and other party colleagues were also present.
According to Pargat Singh’s statement, discussions centred on strengthening the Congress organisation and improving grassroots-level preparations across Jammu & Kashmir. The district-wise screening meeting was part of the party’s organisational work to assess and strengthen its local structure.
The participation of senior Congress leaders indicates the party’s focus on building a more active and coordinated organisation at the district level. Such meetings provide an opportunity to review organisational preparedness, coordinate grassroots activities and identify areas requiring greater attention.
Pargat Singh’s presence also underlined his continued involvement in Congress organisational affairs beyond Punjab. His participation alongside senior Jammu & Kashmir Congress leaders reflects the party’s effort to bring experienced leaders into its broader organisational activities.
The meeting comes as the Congress continues its efforts to strengthen its cadre and grassroots network in Jammu & Kashmir. With district-level organisation playing a crucial role in electoral mobilisation, the party’s emphasis on screening, coordination and grassroots preparation is expected to remain an important part of its strategy.
