Chandigarh: Former Punjab IPS officer Gurinder Dhillon has said that a model he described as the “Sudershana Chakra Model” is now being implemented by the Government of India.Dhillon made the observation in a social media post in which he referred to an article he had published on March 10, 2025. Sharing the post on May 2, he said he was happy to see that the model was being implemented by the Government of India.
In his post, Dhillon directed readers to a report attributed to the Indian Defence Research Wing and urged them to read his earlier article explaining the concept. The development has drawn attention because Dhillon is presenting the current government initiative as being consistent with the ideas outlined in his March 2025 article.“I am happy that Sudershana Chakra Model is being implemented by GOI,” Dhillon wrote in his post.
The reference to the Sudershana Chakra Model appears to be part of Dhillon’s broader thinking on national security and strategic preparedness. However, the specific scope, official designation and details of any Government of India programme described by that name would need to be independently verified through official government sources.Dhillon’s post has nevertheless renewed interest in his earlier article and its proposals, particularly in the context of India’s evolving national-security and defence strategy.
The Government of India has not been independently quoted in the material available with the post as formally adopting Dhillon’s model. Therefore, the assertion that the government is implementing the model should, at this stage, be regarded as Dhillon’s claim unless supported by an official government announcement.
