AMRITSAR:Launching a scathing attack on Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, and the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Spokesperson Prof. Sarchand Singh Khiala condemned the suspension of AAP’s Maur Mandi MLA, Sukhveer Singh Maisarkhana, who raised concerns over the severe shortage of teachers in government schools, including the flagship ‘Schools of Eminence’. Prof. Khiyala stated that this authoritarian move has utterly unmasked the hollow reality behind the Aam Aadmi Party’s much-hyped “Education Revolution.”
Applauding MLA Maisarkhana for his courage in calling out the systemic failures of the state’s education policy, Prof. Khiala remarked that even the ruling party’s own legislators have now begun revolting against the government’s incompetence. He pointed out that Maisarkhana’s own children study in a government school, and when an elected representative pleads to fill critical teacher vacancies for the welfare of students, the government responds not with solutions, but with an autocratic suspension. “This disgraceful act proves beyond doubt that AAP is not a democratic outfit, but an authoritarian cabal run with a fascist mindset,” Prof. Khiala asserted.
The BJP leader noted that after Delhi, hundreds of crores of taxpayers’ hard-earned money are being squandered on relentless PR blitzes and misleading advertisements in Punjab. “The Mann government possesses neither the vision nor the political will to recruit teachers. Punjab’s government schools are running hollow without teaching staff, jeopardizing the future of lakhs of underprivileged children. The government has proved that its governance relies entirely on lies and deceit,” he said.
Criticizing Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for subverting democratic values, Prof. Khiala stated that AAP has completely buried internal democracy, reducing the Punjab administration to puppets executing directives from their high command in Delhi. “AAP came to power promising accountability, yet today its own legislators are barred from even asking questions. Blind subservience has replaced democratic dialogue. First, an MLA from Amritsar was shown the door for speaking out, and now Maisarkhana has been victimized for voicing public concerns,” he added.
Prof. Khiyala cautioned the state government that intimidating or suspending elected lawmakers will not erase the glaring crises on the ground. “If the government ruthlessly muzzles its own legislators, one can only imagine the plight of the common Punjabi under this regime. Playing with the future of poor schoolchildren will not go unanswered.”
Demanding immediate action, the BJP spokesperson urged the Chief Minister to shed his arrogance, listen to constructive criticism, and immediately fill the thousands of vacant teaching posts across Punjab rather than targeting dissenters. He concluded that the people of Punjab clearly see through the vast chasm between AAP’s propaganda and ground realities, and will deliver a fitting response in the electoral arena.
