Davidson County — An Indian man has been charged with several sex crimes after allegedly travelling to Davidson County to meet an underage girl he had been grooming for years online.According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, on Sept. 24, they were called to the Meadowlands community, and at the scene, they spoke with an Uber driver, who had called them because he had concerns about a passenger he had just dropped off in the area.
Deputies say that Prit Pankaj Jain, 31, had travelled from India to Davidson County to meet with an underage girl he had been “dating” online for the last two years.
Two weeks before his arrival, the victim discovered that he had lied about his age and tried to end the relationship. Jain allegedly threatened that he would release explicit material they had exchanged if she didn’t unblock him.
The sheriff’s office says that Jain groomed the victim online. The warrants state that he had recorded videos of the victim engaging in sexual activity.
He was charged with four counts of first-degree exploitation of a minor, four counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor and one count of sexual extortion and given no bond.
