Khushreet Sandhu to Represent Team Canada at World Archery Youth Championship 2025

Winnipeg – Thirteen-year-old archery prodigy Khushreet Sandhu has been selected to represent Team Canada at the upcoming World Archery Youth Championship 2025, which will be held in Winnipeg from August 17–24, 2025. Competing in the highly competitive U18 category, Khushreet’s selection marks a significant milestone in her young but impressive athletic journey.

Khushreet, who turns 14 in August, only began archery in 2022, yet she has already built a stellar record on both the provincial and national stages. Her dedication and remarkable talent have propelled her to the top of Canadian youth archery, making her one of the brightest prospects in the sport.

Over the past two years, Khushreet has accumulated a long list of achievements. She secured a silver medal at the Provincial Indoor Target Championship in Winnipeg in March 2023, followed by a 4th place finish at the North Dakota Championship in Yankton, USA, later that year. She went on to dominate provincial events, winning 1st place at the Manitoba Provincial Outdoor Championship (September 2023) and the Manitoba Provincial Indoor Championship (March 2024).

Her winning streak continued with a 1st place finish at the National West Cup in Winnipeg (May 2024) and the Archery National Tournament in Fredericton, NB (August 2024). Khushreet also secured 1st place at the Manitoba Outdoor Target Championship (September 2024) and the Manitoba Indoor Championship (April 2025). Most recently, she claimed the top spot at the National West Cup held in Calgary in June 2025, further cementing her place among Canada’s elite young archers.

Representing Canada at the World Archery Youth Championship will be Khushreet’s biggest challenge yet, as she faces the best young archers from around the globe. Her exceptional progress in just three years is already inspiring aspiring athletes across the country.

Speaking about her selection, Khushreet expressed excitement and gratitude: “It’s an honor to represent Canada on such a big stage. I’m thankful for the support of my family, coaches, and teammates, and I’m working hard to make my country proud.”

The archery community is now eagerly watching as Khushreet Sandhu prepares for her world championship debut, with hopes that she will bring glory to Team Canada this August in Winnipeg.
