Lovepreet Mann Charged After Stabbing, Home Invasion and Three Carjacking Attempts in Brampton

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO — A 27-year-old Brampton man has been arrested and charged following a violent series of alleged carjacking attempts that included the stabbing of a vehicle owner and an alleged home invasion, Peel Regional Police said.Police said the incidents unfolded around 10 p.m. Sunday, September 6, in the area of Clockwork Drive and Creditview Road.

According to investigators, the suspect allegedly approached a vehicle and attempted to carjack it while the owner was still inside. During the confrontation, the victim was stabbed before the suspect fled on foot.The victim was rushed to a local trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Investigators allege the suspect then went to a nearby home, kicked in the front door and demanded the vehicle keys. The attempt was unsuccessful, and the suspect fled the residence.Police said the same suspect subsequently attempted to carjack two more vehicles in the area. Both attempts were unsuccessful, and no additional victims were injured.

Investigators with the Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau identified the suspect the following day and executed a search warrant at a Brampton address.Police identified the accused as Lovepreet Mann, 27, of Brampton.

Mann has been charged with:

* Robbery — three counts
* Aggravated Assault
* Weapons Dangerous
* Uttering Threats

He was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

The case remains before the courts. The allegations against Mann have not been proven, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
