Brampton— In a significant breakthrough for Peel Regional Police, three individuals from Brampton have been arrested in connection with a high-value transport truck and trailer theft ring. The arrests followed a detailed investigation launched after a stolen transport truck was located on Monday in the area of Dixie Road and Meyerside Drive—an industrial zone that has previously witnessed similar crimes.
According to police sources, the truck had been reported stolen several days prior. During the investigation, officers also discovered two additional transport trailers, also reported missing earlier. These recoveries were instrumental in linking the case to three suspects and ultimately led to the opening of a broader probe into the organized theft of commercial transport vehicles in the Region of Peel.
The Peel Police Aerial Support Unit and the K9 Unit played a key role in tracking and apprehending the suspects. Thanks to the coordinated efforts, authorities were able to recover one fully intact transport truck and two stolen trailers. The total estimated value of the recovered property is approximately $300,000, while the specific stolen cargo recovered from the trailers is estimated at around $100,000.
As a result of the operation, three men were arrested and subsequently held for bail hearings at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton. The accused are:
-
Manjinder Singh Dhaliwal (42)
-
Harmash Lal Dadra (44)
-
Rajwant Singh (31)
All three have been charged with:
-
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (x2)
-
Theft Over $5,000
-
Possession of Break & Enter Instruments
In addition, Rajwant Singh faces two further charges for Breach of Conditional Sentence, indicating prior legal violations and restrictions that he failed to adhere to.
This case highlights the growing problem of transport truck thefts in the Greater Toronto Area, a crime trend that has become increasingly organized and profitable for criminal elements. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to clamping down on such operations, especially in high-risk industrial corridors.
Peel Regional Police have urged trucking companies and commercial vehicle owners to adopt additional security measures and report any suspicious activity immediately. The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests or charges have not been ruled out.
This arrest brings some relief to businesses and truck operators who have faced heavy losses due to organized cargo theft, while also sending a clear message that Peel Police are intensifying their crackdown on such operations.
