Washington: On the occasion of India’s 76th Republic Day, Sikhs gathered outside the Indian Embassy in Washington, D.C., to stage a protest and raise slogans in support of Khalistan. According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesters, holding Khalistani flags, voiced their support for the creation of an independent Sikh homeland, demanding a global referendum for the formation of Khalistan in Indian Punjab.
During the protest, Sikh leader Dr. Bakhshish Singh condemned the Indian government, calling Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “killer” of Sikhs and other minorities. Dr. Singh emphasized that the demand for Khalistan was growing globally and expressed confidence that the day would soon come when Sikhs would achieve their separate homeland away from India.
The protest in Washington is part of a larger movement, with Sikhs around the world calling for a peaceful referendum to decide the future of Punjab.The demonstrators reiterated their commitment to securing a sovereign Sikh state, highlighting the ongoing struggle for Sikh rights and recognition.
