PM Modi gave FCRA approval for donations to Sri Darbar Sahib within 24 hours: Sirsa

New Delhi: Congress governments of the day at Centre opposed foreign donations by NRIs for Sri Darbar Sahib but it is Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi who approved FCRA for Sri Darbar Sahib in 24 hours to enable donations (read daswands) by NRIs for Sri Darbar Sahib. This was stated by BJP National Secretary Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

Addressing hugely attended at Hanumangarh, Sri Ganganagar and other cities of Rajasthan, Mr. Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that Congress governments at the Centre had termed these donations which Sikh community consider as daswandh as contribution towards terrorism but it is PM Modi which gave approval for donations under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) recognising importance of daswandh for Sikh community.

He said that PM Modi was only Prime Minister of the country who has addressed citizens of the country from Red Fort for second time in a year on the occasion of 400th birth anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji. He said that no government at Centre had done so earlier and it was only PM Modi who celebrated this historic occasion. He said that not only this but under PM Modi Government of India celebrated 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji on large scale and Kartarpur Sahib corridor was dedicated to nation on this occasion.

Speaking about Gatka marshal art of Sikh community, Mr. Sirsa said that never in the history of Independent India, Gatka was recognised in the country. He said that it is only PM Modi who has recognised marshal art of Sikhs and included this in National games and today prizes worth Rs. 6 lakh are being distributed to those who are participated in Gatka competitions.

BJP leader further said that during Congress regime, all the accused Congress leaders guilty of 1984 Sikh genocide cases were let free without any trial but it is only PM Modi who reconstituted SIT and these cases were re-investigated resulting in sending these guilty including Sajjan Kumar and others to jail. He said that similarly other guilty were punished in Kanpur and other cities 39 years after worst ever genocide on the world.

He addressed huge gathering at City garden Sri Ganganagar, Khalsa college Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Ribbri Rajasthan, BJP office Hanumangarh, Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Sukha Singh ji, Baba Mehtab Singh ji Hanumangarh and other places.

He was accompanied by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) General Secretary Mr. Jagdip Singh Kahlon besides others.
