US Mass Shooting: 22 killed as gunman goes on rampage, dozens injured

US Lewiston Mass Shooting Latest News Today: In a shocking incident, at least 22 people were killed, while over 60 people were injured in a mass shooting incident that took place in Lewiston, Maine, in the United States. According to information, the incident took place late on Wednesday (US local time).

As per the pictures revealed by the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect can be seen holding a rifle in the firing position. The Sheriff’s Office stated that he was at large. Also, it asked for the public’s support in identifying the suspect seen in the picture.

Maine Police Department stated that “Law Enforcement is attempting to locate Robert Card 4/4/1983, as a person of interest regarding the mass shooting at Schemengees Bar and Sparetime Recreation in US’ Lewiston this evening.

In the meanwhile, a statement was issued by the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston which stated that it was “reacting to a mass casualty and mass shooter event”. It also stated that it has been coordinating with area hospitals to take injured patients.

Likewise, emergency personnel were deployed at a bowling alley, a restaurant and a Walmart distribution center, a report stated.

As per the Associated Press, Maine State Police had received an intel of an active shooter situation in several locations and even asked the local residents to take shelter in place. The police requested people to stay off the roads and allow emergency personnel access to the hospitals.

To note, Lewiston is a part of Androscoggin County which is about 35 miles (56 km) north of Maine’s largest city, Portland.
