Tarn Taran – Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Vice President and former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahmpura on Saturday claimed that the party is receiving a massive public response for the Tarn Taran assembly by-election, citing widespread disillusionment with the “anti-people” policies of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.Addressing a large gathering of party workers at Kot Dasandi Mal village, Brahmpura asserted that the people of Punjab, frustrated with the current administration, are now looking towards the SAD with great hope. The meeting was held in support of the party’s candidate, Principal Bibi Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa.
Launching a scathing attack on Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Brahmpura accused him of engaging in “political drama” with the central government over the issue of ration cards to divert attention from his government’s failures. “The AAP government has pushed Punjab towards deteriorating law and order, the drug menace, unemployment, and economic bankruptcy, leading the state to ruin,” he alleged.
Hailing party president Sukhbir Singh Badal as a ‘Vikas Purush’ (Man of Development), Brahmpura contrasted him with the Chief Minister, whom he labelled a ‘Vinash Purush’ (Man of Destruction). “During the Akali Dal’s tenure, Punjab witnessed unprecedented progress in every sector. Only the Shiromani Akali Dal, being a regional party, truly understands the pain of the state,” he added.
Expressing confidence in the party candidate’s victory, Brahmpura said, “Today’s massive gathering proves that the people of Tarn Taran stand with the Akali Dal like a rock.”
Echoing his sentiments, senior leader, former cabinet minister, and election in-charge Gulzar Singh Ranike stated that the enthusiasm among the people guarantees a grand victory for Bibi Randhawa. He called upon the party workers to work day and night to take the party’s policies to every household and ensure a historic win.
Among others present at the meeting were District President Alwinderpal Singh Pakhoke, Kanchanpreet Kaur Randhawa, Udham Singh, Kashmir Singh, Daljit Singh, Harwant Singh Jhabal, Bakhshish Singh, Dharam Singh, and a large number of SAD workers
