All flood-affected Sikh religious sites including Kartarpur Sahib will be restored in their original form: Munir

Islamabad-Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said here today that Sikh religious sites including Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, which were affected by heavy floods, will be restored in their original form.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Army, Munir visited Sialkot sector, Shakargarh, Narowal and Kartarpur Sahib, among other flood-affected areas of Pakistan’s Punjab province, to assess the flood situation and relief and rescue operations.

Pakistan’s largest province, Punjab, has been under the grip of floods for almost a week. At least 22 people have died in the last 24 hours and at least 1700 villages across the state, including the holy site of Sikhs, Kartarpur Sahib, have been submerged in water. According to the statement, Munir was briefed about the current situation and preparations in view of the forecast of rain. The statement said that Munir interacted with the affected Sikh community of the area and assured that all religious places, including the flood-affected Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, will be restored to their original form on priority.
