-North American Punjabi Association(NAPA) Executive Director Satnam Singh Chahal strongly condemned the recent actions of the Punjab government, which reflect a deeply troubling pattern of political vendetta. Targeting opposition leaders and journalists is not governance — it is intimidation. When a government chooses to silence dissent instead of addressing public welfare, it betrays the very people it is meant to serve. Chahal said that ahealthy democracy depends on transparency, accountability, and the freedom to question those in power. Instead of focusing on essential issues like employment, healthcare, education, and farmer welfare, the government appears more invested in settling political scores. This is unacceptable. NAPA strongly condemn these actions and call upon the government to redirect its energy toward genuine public service. Punjab deserves leadership that uplifts its citizens, not leadership that suppresses voices of criticism.
