San Joaquin County(California)— Law enforcement officials are working to locate a Tracy-area resident who may have been forcibly taken by unknown individuals, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office announced. Deputies were dispatched shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday to West Grant Line Road in the 16000 block after receiving a missing persons report concerning Avtar Singh, 57. As the investigation unfolded, officers examined security camera recordings that captured a troubling scene from earlier that afternoon. Around 2:30 p.m., footage showed Singh in the company of three unknown persons, all dressed in dark-colored clothing, standing near a white SUV. Investigators say the recording suggests Singh did not enter the vehicle willingly.
Singh stands approximately 5’7″ and weighs around 200 pounds. He was last observed wearing light-colored traditional Sikh attire.
Despite the alarming circumstances, detectives believe the incident is contained in nature, with no indication of a broader danger to area residents. The case is actively being pursued by investigators. Anyone with information regarding Singh’s whereabouts or the identities of the individuals seen in the footage is encouraged to contact the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
