MLA Vijay Pratap Singh Alleges Govt–Gangster Nexus in Punjab, Questions CM Mann’s Role

In a sharp political attack, senior MLA Vijay Pratap Singh has raised serious concerns over law and order in Punjab, alleging a possible nexus between the state government and criminal elements. Targeting Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the legislator claimed that since the Chief Minister directly oversees the police department, he must be held accountable for a reported incident involving a gangster interview conducted inside a police station in Kharar.

The MLA questioned how such an incident could occur in a high-security environment, suggesting it points to either gross negligence or deliberate collusion. “Is this not a collusion between the government and gangsters?” he asked, adding that such developments undermine public trust in law enforcement and governance.

Taking his allegations further, Vijay Pratap Singh also targeted AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal, controversially claiming that the gangster in question was linked to Kejriwal. He accused Kejriwal of running Punjab “as per his own wishes,” alleging excessive external control over the state’s affairs.

The MLA announced that he would formally request the Punjab Governor to personally visit the residence of the late DM Gagandeep Randhawa to assess the situation and extend support to the bereaved family. Additionally, he stated that he would urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take serious note of the deteriorating situation in Punjab, remarking that the state has effectively been “left to Kejriwal.”

Raising concerns about freedom of expression, Vijay Pratap Singh alleged that individuals who speak against the government are being targeted with legal cases. He described the current governance model as authoritarian and warned that such practices could further deepen political and social unrest in the state.

As of now, there has been no official response from the Punjab government or the Aam Aadmi Party regarding these allegations. The issue is likely to intensify political confrontation in the coming days, with opposition leaders demanding accountability and transparency in matters concerning law enforcement and public safety.
