When Words Loose Meaning: NAPA Exposes the Politics of Convenience

Milpitas(California)The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA)Executive Director  Satnam Singh Chahal, expresses deep concern over the growing trend of political leaders changing their stand and ideology purely to serve their selfish interests and personal ambitions. Recent developments involving Raghav Chadha and his past remarks against the Bharatiya Janata Party have once again highlighted how conveniently strong words and rigid positions are abandoned when political equations begin to shift.

NAPA strongly believes that such inconsistency is not merely a matter of political strategy but a betrayal of public trust. When leaders use harsh language like “anpadh gundon ki party” to gain attention and later appear to dilute or reverse their stance, it raises serious questions about their credibility and commitment to the people they represent. Politics should be guided by principles, not by personal gain or proximity to power added Chahal

The association also notes with concern the increasing influence of glamour and celebrity culture in political decision-making. While public figures like Bollywood Stars are respected in their respective fields, dragging such personalities into political narratives reflects a worrying shift where optics and influence overshadow accountability and governance.

NAPA calls upon all political leaders to maintain consistency, dignity, and honesty in their public life. The people of India, especially the youth, deserve transparency and integrity not opportunistic shifts that serve individual careers at the cost of democratic values.

Satnam Singh Chahal emphasized that voters must remain vigilant and hold leaders accountable for their words and actions. “Public memory should not be taken for granted. Leaders who change their stand for convenience weaken the very foundation of democracy,” he stated.

NAPA reiterates its commitment to raising awareness and standing against political hypocrisy, urging citizens to prioritize truth, accountability, and principled leadership above all.
