Chandigarh-The Executive Director of the North American Punjabi Association (NAPA), Satnam Singh Chahal, has demanded a fair, transparent, and independent investigation into the serious allegations and controversies involving Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu and certain Punjab Police officials. NAPA believes that whenever allegations connected to political leaders, law enforcement agencies, or public officials emerge in the public domain, a credible investigation becomes essential to maintain public trust in democratic institutions.
Mr. Chahal stated that Punjab has already been facing serious challenges related to law and order, political conflicts, allegations of corruption, drug-related concerns, and declining public confidence in institutions. In such an atmosphere, every allegation made by political leaders against government officials or police authorities must be properly investigated instead of being reduced to political blame games.
NAPA expressed concern over repeated public statements, accusations, and counter-accusations involving Punjab politics, police administration, and senior leaders. The organization said that political rhetoric alone cannot satisfy public concerns. The people of Punjab deserve facts, transparency, and accountability through lawful investigation mechanisms.
Mr. Chahal said that if allegations are false, an impartial investigation will clear the names of those involved. However, if there is any misuse of power, political interference, or wrongdoing, the responsible persons must be held accountable according to law, regardless of their political position or official rank.
NAPA further stated that Punjab Police has an important responsibility in maintaining law and order, fighting organized crime, and protecting citizens. Therefore, any controversy involving police officials creates serious public concern and should be addressed with transparency and professionalism. Public confidence in policing can only survive when investigations are seen as independent and unbiased.
Mr. Chahal also appealed to all political parties to avoid using sensitive issues merely for political mileage. Punjab has already suffered greatly due to division, mistrust, and political confrontation. The state now needs responsible leadership focused on justice, governance, and public welfare rather than continuous political conflict.
NAPA urged the Punjab Government, central authorities, and independent investigative agencies to ensure that all allegations connected with political leaders and police officials are examined fairly and transparently so that the truth can come before the people of Punjab.
Mr. Chahal concluded by stating that democracy becomes stronger only when accountability applies equally to politicians, police officers, and government authorities without fear or favoritism
