Congress’s struggle for Mohali’s development and people’s rights will continue: Balbir Singh Sidhu

Mohali-Senior Congress leader and former Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu held a special discussion over tea with newly elected and former Municipal Corporation councillors of the Congress party in Mohali, as well as all Congress candidates who contested the Municipal Corporation elections. The purpose of the meeting was to further strengthen the party, effectively raise public issues, and prepare a strategy for the development of Mohali.

On this occasion, Balbir Singh Sidhu specially congratulated the Congress candidates who won in the municipal elections. He said that the mandate given by the people reflects their trust and the result of their long-standing public service. Sidhu congratulated Charanjit Kaur (Ward 1), Anuradha Anand (Ward 12), Kamalpreet Singh Banni (Ward 14), Manjeet Kaur (Ward 25), Parwinder Kaur (Ward 27), Harjeet Singh (Ward 30), Baljit Kaur (Ward 37), and Aman Kumar Paswan (Ward 46), expressing hope that they would work wholeheartedly for the development of their respective wards and meet public expectations. He also appreciated the contribution of former councillors who consistently raised their voices for public welfare.

Sidhu especially encouraged those Congress candidates who, despite pressure from the ruling party, alleged government interference, and several challenges, fought strongly. He said that winning elections is not the only measure of success; standing fearlessly for people’s rights is equally important. Those who upheld the Congress flag even in difficult circumstances are the true strength of the party.

He added that the Congress vote share remained strong in several wards, which reflects the public’s trust and the hard work of party workers.

Balbir Singh Sidhu said that several important development issues in Mohali are still unresolved. During the meeting, open discussions were held on development, basic civic facilities, public welfare issues, and future plans. He said that the Congress party has always remained committed to the all-round development of Mohali and will continue working with the same dedication.

He instructed councillors and party leaders to stay in constant touch with the public and work sincerely to resolve their problems.

In the end, he said that the greatest strength of the Congress party is its dedicated workers and the love of the people. With this strength, the party will move among the people more strongly in the future and fight for every issue.
