New Delhi,: Gurjeet Singh Aujla attended a briefing session for Members of Parliament on “The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026” at Parliament House on Wednesday, describing the meeting as both valuable and insightful.
Sharing details of the session, Aujla said the briefing provided Members of Parliament with a comprehensive understanding of the proposed amendments to the legislation and their potential impact on India’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. He noted that the discussion helped lawmakers better appreciate the objectives of the proposed reforms and the role they could play in strengthening one of the country’s most important economic sectors.
The Amritsar MP emphasized that MSMEs form the backbone of India’s economy by generating employment, encouraging entrepreneurship, and contributing significantly to manufacturing and exports. He said it is important for Parliament to carefully examine any legislative changes that could enhance the growth, competitiveness, and sustainability of small businesses.
