Washington, DC- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has added Satinderjeet Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, to its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, marking a major escalation in the U.S. law-enforcement campaign against alleged transnational organised crime. According to the FBI, Singh is wanted for his alleged involvement with the Lawrence Bishnoi Organised Crime Group, which U.S. authorities allege has been involved in targeted killings, shootings, extortion, kidnappings, assaults and narcotics and weapons trafficking in Southern California and across the United States and Canada. The FBI alleges that Singh served as a North American leader of the organisation.
The FBI has announced a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to Singh’s arrest and warns members of the public not to approach or interact with him, but instead to contact law enforcement. The agency says information can be provided anonymously through the FBI.
This development is also significant for the Punjabi and wider South Asian diaspora, because the FBI says the alleged criminal enterprise has used violence and intimidation to create fear among communities in India and abroad. The case involves multiple federal defendants under Operation Hardball, a broader investigation into India-based transnational criminal organisations.
