Amritsar North MLA Highlights Infrastructure Drive, Prioritises Majitha Road Bypass Reconstruction

Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh MLA Amritsar North

Amritsar — Amritsar North MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh continues to showcase a range of infrastructure and civic development works in his constituency through a series of “report cards” shared on social media. In his latest update on July 20, the former IPS officer focused on the Majitha Road Bypass, stating that the renovation and reconstruction of the important northern corridor was carried out on a priority basis. Photographs accompanying the post showed the improved road stretch. This forms part of a wider set of local development projects the MLA has publicly highlighted since assuming office in 2022. Key works claimed in his report cards include:

  • Majitha Road Bypass: Priority renovation and full reconstruction.
  • 88-Foot Road areas: Development works in Fateh Singh Colony and Laxmi Nagar, initiated after meetings with residents.
  • Lawrence Road corridor: Improvements in Shastri Nagar and a model reconstruction of the road linking Makbool Road–Police Lines–Lawrence Road.
  • Majitha Road localities: Works in Tungbala and Indira Colony.
  • Other residential pockets: Friends Colony, Ekroop Avenue–Dashmesh Avenue Panchayat, and several additional neighbourhoods.

Singh has repeatedly described his working style as treating residents “like family members” and addressing long-pending civic issues on priority. On his official platform, he emphasises public welfare infrastructure, smart schools, clean water supply, and youth skill development under the theme “Power to Empower.”Independent reports from late 2025 also noted accelerated road and civic works in the Amritsar North constituency by the Amritsar Improvement Trust, covering areas such as Basant Avenue, Ranjit Avenue, Green Avenue, Shastri Nagar, 88-Foot Road, and others. The MLA continues to present these initiatives as evidence of responsive local governance in one of Amritsar’s key urban assembly segments.
