NEW CASTLE, DELAWARE — One man has been arrested after two men allegedly posed as FedEx drivers and used fraudulent identification and shipping documents to steal a tractor-trailer loaded with electronics valued at approximately $680,000 from a Delaware warehouse.
The theft occurred on Monday, September 14, 2026, at approximately 9:15 a.m. at Emolo Consumer Electronics on River Road in New Castle, according to police and NBC Philadelphia.Investigators said the two men arrived at the warehouse in a tractor-trailer and told employees they were FedEx drivers. They allegedly presented fraudulent commercial driver’s licenses and shipping documents to obtain the loaded trailer.
After connecting their tractor to the trailer, the men drove away with the electronics shipment.The shipper later discovered that the documents provided by the purported FedEx drivers were fraudulent. The company subsequently located the tractor-trailer at University Plaza in Newark, Delaware, and contacted 911.
Police responded and located one of the suspects, identified as 35-year-old Dushatdaman Parihar.According to investigators, Parihar’s CDL and the registration plate displayed on his tractor-trailer were also allegedly fraudulent.
Parihar was arrested and charged with theft of $100,000 or more, forgery, conspiracy and displaying a fictitious registration plate.Police said the second man allegedly involved in the theft has not been identified or located.
The case highlights the vulnerability of high-value freight shipments to sophisticated identity and documentation fraud, particularly when criminals are able to impersonate legitimate transportation companies and obtain loaded trailers directly from warehouses.The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations against Parihar have not been proven in court.
