NAPA Condemns Tarn Taran Shooting; One NRI died- Urgent Action to Restore Public Safety

Tarn Taran, Punjab: The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) Executive Director, Satnam Singh Chahal, strongly condemns the shocking shooting incident in Tarn Taran district, where one NRI identified as Gursewak Singh, was killed and two others, Harkirat Singh and Sajanpreet Singh, sustained critical injuries after gunfire erupted in broad daylight. The incident, reported on October 28, has once again raised serious concerns about the safety of ordinary citizens in Punjab.

Satnam Singh Chahal said that no personal dispute, suspicion or threat can justify taking an innocent life or putting others in danger. He urged Punjab Police to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation, arrest the accused in accordance with the law, and ensure justice for the victim’s family and proper medical care for the injured. NAPA also called upon the Punjab government to take effective measures against unlawful use of firearms and strengthen public safety. “The people of Punjab deserve to live without fear. Protecting human life must be the highest priority, and those responsible for violence must be held accountable under the law,” Chahal said on behalf of NAPA.
