London(Punjab Outlook Bureau)Preet Kaur Gill MP recently participated in an event celebrating the military contributions of Sikhs to the UK. She shared that her great-grandfather fought for the British Army in France during the First World War.
In November 2024, Ms. Gill spoke at the Sikh Military Foundation’s launch of their World War I Sikh Remembrance campaign at the Punjab Restaurant in Covent Garden. She emphasized, “Sikh history is British history, and our contribution, past and present, should not be forgotten.”
Additionally, in April 2019, Ms. Gill contributed to a parliamentary debate highlighting the significant contributions of Sikhs to the UK, both historically and in contemporary society. These events underscore the ongoing recognition and appreciation of the Sikh community’s role in the UK’s history and their continued contributions today.
