NEW DELHI / PUNJAB — Retired IPS officer Gurinder Singh Dhillon, currently serving as Chairman of the Ex-Servicemen Cell and a senior leader in the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, has issued a detailed statement on the ongoing protests related to the NEET examination irregularities. In his note titled “The CJP Protest at Jantar Mantar and the March towards the Parliament of India”, Dhillon acknowledges the genuine concerns raised by protesters regarding the NEET exam while emphasizing the importance of democratic norms and constitutional processes.

Yet, when Sikh students at Panjab University have alleged intimidation, police action, detentions, and disciplinary proceedings over peaceful protests, many in Punjab’s political leadership have appeared far less vocal than expected.
