Congress has a record of hurting Sikh sentiments for its politics: Youth Akali Dal President Sarabjit Singh Jhinjar

Jalandhar-Youth Akali Dal President Sarabjit Singh Jhinjar today led a massive protest against the Congress party in Jalandhar over the shocking confession made by Congress MLA Pargat Singh in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha that the Congress deliberately delayed justice in the sacrilege case. Akali workers staged a protest outside the Congress party office and burnt effigies of Congress leaders.
The Youth Akali Dal held protests against the Congress in all districts of Punjab on the same day, where party workers burnt effigies of Congress leaders outside Congress offices. In Jalandhar, an effigy was burnt outside the gate of the Congress office. In Muktsar, the protest targeted Punjab Congress president Raja Warring. Similar scenes were witnessed in Bathinda, Mansa, Barnala, Ferozepur, Moga, Nawanshahr, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Mohali and Fatehgarh Sahib – the anger of the Sikh youth was clearly visible everywhere.
Hitting out at the Congress, Jhinjar said, “The Congress party has a proven record of being anti-Sikh. From the 1984 Sikh massacre to Operation Bluestar, and then to taking the oath of the holy Gutka Sahib to form the government – the Congress has a long history of hurting Sikh sentiments. Now, the admission by Congress MLA Pargat Singh that the Congress government deliberately delayed justice in sacrilege cases for political gain, confirms our stand that the Congress party harbors deep hatred towards the Sikh community.”
Speaking further, Jhinjar said, “It is very shameful that the Congress party did politics on such a sensitive and sacred issue related to the desecration of our holy scriptures. During their five years in power, they deliberately obstructed justice just for their political gain. Pargat Singh should come forward and name those in the Congress government who were responsible for this delay. He cannot just wash his hands by saying that he was not in favour of the delay – if he really disagreed, he should have resigned. Why did he continue as an MLA and also as a minister in the same government?”
Answering questions about the AAP government’s intentions, he said, “It is clear that the Aam Aadmi Party is also just doing politics on the issue of sacrilege. It has been three and a half years – if they were serious, justice would have been done by now. This assembly session was just another fraud that did not yield any results. Their own MLA Naresh Yadav has been convicted in a sacrilege case, and he was being defended by none other than their own Finance Minister Harpal Cheema. This shows the pathetic state of the AAP regime.”
Jhinjar was accompanied by Tajinder Singh Nijjar, Secretary General, Bachittar Singh Kohar, Shiromani Akali Dal District President Jalandhar Rural, Iqbal Singh Dhindsa, Urban President, Vipandeep Singh Dhillon, Youth Akali Dal President Rural, Amritvir Singh, Urban President, Gagandeep Singh Gaggi, Kuldeep Singh Tandi, Tanvir Singh Kapurthala, Major Rajkamal Singh Nakodar, Gurdeep Singh Ladhra, Maninder Singh, Harjap Singh Sangha e
