India’s Democracy Bleeding, Killers on the Throne of Power

India’s democracy, once hailed as a vibrant example to the world, today stands bruised and bleeding. Those who should be held accountable for crimes against the people are instead seated comfortably on the throne of power. In this distorted reality, governance has been replaced with the politics of fear, deceit, and manipulation.

A section of the media, entrusted with the sacred duty of truth-telling, has abandoned its role as the fourth pillar of democracy. Driven by the intoxication of money and proximity to power, this media mafia shields the establishment instead of questioning it. The public discourse has been reduced to loud theatrics and selective narratives, protecting the ruling regime from scrutiny while vilifying dissenting voices.

For the past eleven years, the so-called “Gujarat Model” has been marketed as the ultimate blueprint for development. Yet behind this glittering façade lies a darker truth — one of rising inequality, suppression of dissent, and systematic erosion of democratic institutions. The promise of progress has turned into a tool for political deception, a mask that hides the rot within.

Even today, the focus of interrogation is directed toward the opposition, while those in power escape accountability. Fake votes and manipulated electoral processes ensure that the ruling party’s bag remains full, further undermining the very foundation of democracy. Instead of fair elections and transparent governance, the people are served with a spectacle — one where the outcome is predetermined, and the citizen’s voice is drowned in the noise of propaganda.

The question remains: How long can a democracy survive when its watchdogs are asleep, its rulers are unchecked, and its people are misled? Unless truth regains its place at the center of public life, India’s democratic heartbeat will continue to fade, one compromised election at a time.
