Milpitas(California): Dr Sanjay Agarwal, a 68-year-old Indian-origin pulmonologist from San Jose, has been arrested on charges of sexual battery after a female patient accused him of inappropriate conduct during a consultation.
According to the Milpitas Police Department, the alleged incident was reported on September 16, 2025. Dr. Agarwal, who practices at a sleep center in Milpitas and is affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, was accused of inappropriately touching the patient during a medical appointment.
Following an investigation by the department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau, detectives determined there was enough evidence to file criminal charges. On September 24, Dr. Agarwal was arrested at his office and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on sexual battery charges.
