NAPA expresses deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab.

The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) executive director, Satnam Singh Chahal, expresses deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab. The recent rise in violent crimes, including murders, assaults, and other serious offences, highlights an urgent need for immediate and decisive action by the authorities.

A recent case in Mansa has brought this issue into sharp focus, where a young tractor driver was brutally murdered. The victim’s family alleges involvement of individuals from outside the state, along with potential complicity of local authorities, making this case especially alarming. Incidents like these create fear among citizens and weaken public confidence in law enforcement.

NAPA urges the Punjab government and law enforcement agencies to ensure strict enforcement of laws without delay. All violent crimes must be investigated impartially and transparently, and citizens must be protected from organised and opportunistic criminal elements. Action must be taken against perpetrators regardless of their influence or status, in order to restore public trust.

Chahal emphasised, “Every life lost to violence represents a failure of the system. We cannot remain silent while serious crimes continue to rise. Law enforcement authorities must act promptly and justly to protect the people of Punjab.”

NAPA calls on both state authorities and community leaders to come together to address this crisis and ensure that Punjab remains a safe place for all its residents.
