Brampton(Canada)Three residents of Brampton have been charged following a police raid that led to the seizure of drugs, firearms, ammunition, and a replica handgun. The operation was carried out by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). According to authorities, the OPP’s Caledon Detachment Community Street Crime Unit launched a drug trafficking investigation last month. With the support of the Caledon Major Crime Unit, OPP Central Region Organised Crime Enforcement Bureau, and the Canada Border Services Agency, a search warrant was executed at a Brampton residence.
Investigators said approximately 480 grams of opium, two firearms, ammunition, and a replica handgun were seized during the raid. As a result, 25-year-old Kushdeep Kaur of Brampton has been charged with two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition. Meanwhile, 26-year-old Balpreet Kaur and 20-year-old Arun Kumar, both also of Brampton, are each facing one count of possession of a Schedule I substance for trafficking.
All three accused are scheduled to appear in court at a later date. Authorities emphasised that enforcement efforts will continue to target illegal drugs and firearms in the community to ensure public safety
