AAP govt has lost moral authority to continue: Warring

CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today said that the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has lost the moral authority to continue as there is complete lawlessness and anarchy prevailing everywhere across the state. “This is high time that the government either starts to act or decides to abdicate, sooner the better”, he warned.
Reacting to the riot and arson inside the Kapurthala jail last evening and the killing of an Assistant Sub Inspector of Police in Amritsar today, Warring said that the AAP government has clearly abdicated its authority and the criminals and gangsters are having a free run. “There is no fear of law”, he remarked.
Referring to the riot and arson in the Kapurthala jail, he said, “that such violence took place inside the high security jail only proves one thing that this government’s writ does not run even inside the jail premises, while it has already ceased to exist outside”.
He pointed out, the way the jail inmates had a free run to resort to unprecedented violence and arson shows that those responsible for the job are either incompetent or do not have any will to fight.
On the killing of an ASI in Amritsar today, while he was going for his duty, Warring said, when the policemen are themselves not secure that they can be killed at the will and discretion of the criminals and gangsters, how secure a common man will be feeling, can be anybody’s guess.
