Chandigarh / Melbourne: The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has expressed deep concern over the disappearance of NRI Sunil Sharma, who had travelled from Melbourne, Australia, to Punjab and has reportedly been missing for several days. NAPA executive director Satnam Singh Chahal said the case has caused tremendous anxiety among family members and friends, particularly as Sharma’s mobile phone remains switched off and his vehicle is also reported missing. “It is extremely distressing to learn that Sunil Sharma has been missing for several days without any contact with his family.
The emotional appeal made by his daughter seeking help to locate her father highlights the pain and uncertainty the family is enduring,” Chahal said. He urged the Punjab Government and law enforcement agencies to treat the matter as a priority and intensify efforts to trace Sharma’s whereabouts at the earliest. “NAPA respectfully appeals to the Punjab authorities to deploy all necessary resources to investigate this case thoroughly and ensure that every possible lead is pursued. The family deserves answers, and we hope for Sunil Sharma’s safe and speedy return,” Chahal added. NAPA also appealed to members of the public who may have any information regarding Sharma’s whereabouts to contact the relevant authorities immediately. We stand in solidarity with the Sharma family during this difficult period and hope the authorities will act promptly to move the case forward.
