Amritsar: Amritsar North MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh on Wednesday outlined his vision to transform the Gandasinghwala-Bhutanpura area into an educational centre, sharing the details as part of his ongoing constituency report card series.In a social media post, the former IPS officer presented “Report Card Series 27,” stating that he aims to develop Gandasinghwala-Bhutanpura as a hub for education. The update, shared in both Punjabi and English, was accompanied by photographs of the locality.Singh has been regularly documenting development works in his Amritsar North constituency through the “Vidhayak da Report Card” series. Earlier instalments have highlighted projects such as the priority reconstruction of the Majitha Road Bypass and infrastructure improvements in areas including Fateh Singh Colony on the 88-foot road.A 1998-batch IPS officer of the Punjab cadre, Singh served in various key positions, including in Amritsar, before taking voluntary retirement in 2021.
He joined the Aam Aadmi Party and won the Amritsar North Assembly seat in the 2022 elections. In June 2025, the party suspended him for five years on grounds of alleged anti-party activities. He continues to function as the elected MLA and has maintained focus on local development initiatives. The latest report card reflects his continued engagement with constituency issues, particularly efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure in semi-urban and peripheral areas of Amritsar North.
