Chandigarh — The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) Executive Director Satnam Singh Chahal has strongly condemned the alleged hammer attack on Hindu trader Santosh Kumar in Nushki, Balochistan, and demanded a transparent investigation, immediate arrest of those responsible, and strict action under the law.
“This brutal attack on a member of the Hindu minority community is deeply disturbing and raises serious concerns about the safety and security of religious minorities in the region. Every citizen, regardless of religion, caste, or community, has the fundamental right to live, work, and move freely without fear of violence,” said Chahal.
NAPA urged the Balochistan government and law enforcement agencies to ensure that the investigation is conducted fairly and without any pressure so that the perpetrators are brought to justice. “Failure to take swift action sends a dangerous message and can increase fear among minority communities who already face challenges in protecting their rights and security,” he added.
Chahal emphasized that protecting minorities is not only a legal obligation but also a responsibility of every democratic society. “The safety of Hindu, Sikh, Christian, and other minority communities must be guaranteed through effective policing, accountability, and respect for human rights,” he said.
NAPA also appealed to community leaders, civil society organizations, and human rights bodies to raise their voice against violence and work together to promote peace, tolerance, and harmony.
“The world must stand united against attacks on innocent people. Violence against any community is an attack on humanity itself,” Chahal said.
NAPA hopes that the authorities will act swiftly, provide justice to the victim, and take concrete measures to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future.
