 A 55-year-old Indian-origin businessman, Arvi Singh Sagoo, was killed in downtown Edmonton after confronting a stranger who was urinating on his car.The incident took place on October 19 near The Common restaurant on 109 Street. According to Edmonton Police Service (EPS), Sagoo and his girlfriend were returning to their vehicle after dinner when they saw the man urinating on their car.

According to Edmonton Police Service (EPS), Sagoo and his girlfriend were returning to their vehicle after dinner when they saw the man urinating on their car.
When Sagoo questioned him, the suspect allegedly struck him in the head, causing him to fall and lose consciousness. Sagoo was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and placed on life support. He died five days later, on October 24.
Police identified the suspect as 40-year-old Kyle Papin, who was initially charged with aggravated assault. The EPS Homicide Unit has since taken over the investigation, and police say additional charges are expected following Sagoo’s death.Investigators confirmed that Sagoo and Papin were strangers and had no prior connection. The assault appeared to be an isolated incident.
Papin remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 4.
