SAD’s Brahmpura  Slams ‘Political Backing’ of Drug Mafia in Khadoor Sahib

Tarn Taran – Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Vice President and former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahmpura has written a crucial letter to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, offering key constitutional suggestions to fortify the implementation of the new anti-sacrilege law, while also raising a red flag over the rampant drug menace in Khadoor Sahib.
Welcoming the government’s anti-sacrilege legislation, Brahmpura stated that the Supreme Court and the Indian Constitution recognize Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as a ‘Living Guru’ (Juridical Person). However, he emphasized that the law’s real test lies in its strict grassroots implementation. To ensure culprits cannot exploit legal loopholes, he suggested that the State itself must act as the ‘Chief Protector’ to contest cases in court. He further demanded special orders to protect witness identities and the use of stringent laws, such as the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), to confiscate the assets of conspirators.
Expressing deep anguish over the ruination of Punjab’s youth, the SAD leader highlighted that Sri Khadoor Sahib, a sacred land blessed by eight Gurus, is currently battling a severe drug and gangster menace. He strongly condemned the undeclared social and political patronage being provided to tainted individuals and drug smugglers, a trend that has sparked massive outrage among the local public.
Warning that the people of Punjab will never tolerate such tainted elements defiling Panthic traditions, Brahmpura stated that political backing of criminals eradicates the fear of the law. He urged the Chief Minister to issue strict directives to restore the rule of law and take ruthless, impartial action against drug peddlers and their political masters. – (Press release ends).
