MP Gurjit Singh Aujla Condemns Attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal at Nanded Gurdwara

Amritsar: Congress MP Gurjit Singh Aujla has strongly condemned the attack on Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal at a Gurdwara Sahib in Nanded, describing the incident as deeply disturbing and unacceptable.

Aujla said he was “deeply saddened and disturbed” by the attack, stressing that a Gurdwara Sahib is a sacred place dedicated to peace, prayer and sangat. He said that violence inside such a holy place not only violates the sanctity of the Gurdwara but also hurts the sentiments of the entire Sikh community.

Expressing concern over Badal’s safety, Aujla prayed for his strength and speedy recovery and said that he stands with Sukhbir Singh Badal and his family during the difficult time.

The Congress MP also urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the concerned authorities to conduct a fair and thorough investigation into the incident. He called for the strictest possible action against anyone found responsible for the attack.

Aujla’s statement comes amid widespread concern over the incident at Nanded Sahib, with political leaders and members of the Sikh community calling for restraint, accountability and respect for the sanctity of religious places.

The incident has once again raised questions about security arrangements at major Sikh religious institutions and the need to ensure that Gurdwaras remain peaceful and safe places for devotees, irrespective of their political or personal affiliations.
