With profound grief and a heavy heart, we mourn the martyrdom of Parminder Singh Jhota (Parvinder Singh Jhota), a fearless anti-drug crusader and a true son of Punjab.

He was murdered in broad daylight in Mansa for speaking out against the illegal sale of drugs through chemist shops to Punjab’s children and youth. While livestreaming his confrontation with a medical store owner, he was shot dead — a cowardly act that silenced a voice that had become the roar of ordinary people fighting the drug menace.

Jhota Ji, known as “Jhota” (the bull), rose from his own past struggles with substance abuse to become a powerful grassroots activist. Through his “Nasha Roko, Rozgar Do” campaign and Anti-Drug Task Force, he confronted alleged drug peddlers face-to-face, exposed the open sale of intoxicants, and inspired village after village to stand up. His courage gave hope to countless families whose sons and daughters were being destroyed by drugs.

His sacrifice is a painful reminder of the dangerous nexus that continues to thrive in Punjab. He did not die for himself — he died for the future of Punjab’s youth.

On behalf of Satnam Singh Chahal and the entire team of Punjab Outlook, Punjab News USA, and NAPA, we offer our deepest condolences to his parents, wife, sons, and the entire bereaved family. May Waheguru bless his soul with eternal peace and give his loved ones the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

We demand swift and exemplary justice. Those who raise their voice against drugs must never be left unprotected. Jhota’s mission must not end with his life — it must become a movement.

Nasha Roko. Punjab Bachao.
RIP Parminder Singh Jhota
A True Son of Punjab — Forever in our hearts.
