MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh Hits Out at Rivals, Defends Work in Amritsar North

MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh

Amritsar-In a strongly worded political statement, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh has lashed out at his critics while reaffirming his deep connection with the people of Amritsar North. The MLA dismissed concerns raised by opponents, asserting that neither he nor his constituency requires external validation or interference.

Invoking cultural and spiritual symbolism, Singh remarked that Amritsar remains under the blessings of Guru Ram Das, describing the city as his family and emphasizing that his political strength comes directly from the people. He underlined that his electoral success and public support are rooted in grassroots engagement rather than political maneuvering.

Taking a sharp dig at rivals, Singh suggested that those who once relied on “Chanakya and Chandragupta” strategies are now politically weakened, with even senior leaders facing electoral defeats. He claimed that while others depend on tactics and influence, his politics is guided by principles, loyalty to Punjab, and adherence to the Constitution.

The MLA highlighted his development work, stating that nearly 90 percent of his constituency projects were completed within the first three years of his tenure, without external support or “trickery.” He accused certain so-called constituency in-charges of taking credit for already approved works, alleging corruption through commissions and brokerage practices.

Raising civic concerns, Singh pointed to ongoing issues in Amritsar, including water shortages during summer, supply of contaminated water, and inadequate sewage systems. He further alleged financial irregularities under the Smart City Mission, claiming that large sums of public funds have been misused while basic services continue to suffer.

In a pointed message to critics and sections of the media, Singh dismissed speculation about electoral outcomes, asserting that elections are decided by the people, not by journalists or political calculations. He concluded by expressing confidence in public awareness, stating that voters are wise and capable of judging the truth for themselves.

The remarks signal intensifying political tensions in Amritsar ahead of future electoral contests, with Singh positioning himself as a leader rooted in accountability, local development, and principled politics.
