“Opposition Accuses AAP Government of Misusing State Machinery to Undermine Akal Takht in FIR Controversy”

Chandigarh: The political controversy surrounding Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the alleged sacrilege video has intensified, with opposition parties launching a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government over the registration of FIRs and the alleged use of government machinery in the matter. The accusations come amid an ongoing dispute over forensic reports, viral videos, and the involvement of the Akal Takht in the controversy.

Opposition leaders have alleged that the Punjab government misused state resources and official machinery to protect political interests and challenge the findings of the Akal Takht. They claim that public funds were spent to create a narrative aimed at undermining the authority and credibility of the highest temporal seat of the Sikh community. According to critics, instead of addressing the concerns raised by Sikh religious institutions, the government allegedly attempted to counter them through questionable forensic reports and administrative intervention.

The allegations gained momentum after Haryana Police registered a case linked to an alleged fake forensic report associated with the controversial video. Opposition leaders argue that the FIR and subsequent developments have raised serious questions about the role of government officials and law enforcement agencies in the affair. They have demanded a thorough and impartial investigation into the circumstances under which the forensic reports were prepared and presented.

Several opposition figures have asserted that the controversy is no longer limited to a political dispute but has become an issue concerning the dignity and authority of the Akal Takht. They contend that any attempt to challenge or discredit religious institutions through state-sponsored actions amounts to an attack on Sikh sentiments. The Shiromani Akali Dal and BJP have accused the AAP government of using official machinery to create confusion and weaken the standing of the Akal Takht in the eyes of the public.

The opposition has further questioned why the Punjab government has not initiated action against officials allegedly linked to the controversy. They argue that if evidence of wrongdoing exists, accountability should extend to all individuals involved, irrespective of their position or political affiliation. Calls have also been made for an independent inquiry supervised by agencies outside Punjab to ensure transparency and public confidence in the investigation.

Meanwhile, the AAP government has strongly rejected the allegations. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has maintained that the controversy is part of a politically motivated campaign against him and has alleged that certain individuals were pressured into making false statements regarding forensic reports. AAP leaders have also claimed that opposition parties are attempting to exploit religious sentiments for political gain and have defended their actions as lawful and transparent.

As the controversy continues to escalate, political tensions in Punjab remain high. With opposition parties demanding legal action and the ruling party alleging political vendetta, the issue has evolved into a major confrontation involving religion, politics, law enforcement, and governance. The outcome of ongoing investigations is likely to play a significant role in shaping the future course of Punjab’s political landscape.
