SAS Nagar-Former Punjab Health Minister and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu, while strongly criticizing the serious negligence and careless performance of the AAP government, said that due to the long delay in issuing tenders by the Punjab government, the Central Government has cancelled road and bridge projects worth more than Rs 800 crore approved under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, which is a major obstacle in the development of Punjab.
Sidhu said that these projects were for upgrading 64 roads and construction of 38 new bridges, which were supposed to bring convenience in the lives of the people. But due to the negligence of the AAP government, these projects were cancelled, which is directly harming the people of Punjab.
Even before this, grants worth more than Rs 7000 crore under RDF (Rural Development Fund) have been stopped. This clearly shows how the current Punjab government is adopting an anti-people and anti-development attitude.
Sidhu took a sharp dig at the AAP government and said that due to the irresponsible performance of the AAP government, Punjab is being pushed backward in every field. This is like playing with the future of our future generation.
Sidhu said that the Punjab government is taking new loans every day. Due to which the heavy burden of debt on Punjab is increasing, but where is the real development? Leave aside the talk of our reliefs and facilities, only advertising and show-off are going on here. Public money is being wasted on empty advertisements and unnecessary expenses. Punjab really needs care and true development, not just pleasant things on papers.
Sidhu said that if the Punjab government continues in this condition, the future of Punjab will be in serious danger. Now the people of Punjab should understand the failure of this government and raise their voice for a major change in the next elections.
