Milpitas (California ), USA: The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has issued an urgent appeal to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to take immediate and decisive action to save the 1158 Assistant Professors and Librarians recruitment, warning that failure to do so will irreparably harm Punjab’s education system. NAPA Executive Director Satnam Singh Chahal condemned the uncertainty surrounding the recruitment, stating:
“These educators followed every rule, met every qualification, and earned their positions through a transparent, merit-based process. To now deny them their rightful appointments is to crush both their futures and the hopes of lakhs of students.”
Chahal emphasised that the recruitment process was carried out in full compliance with UGC guidelines and constitutional principles, and that the State must act immediately to file a strong review petition before the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
“This is more than a jobs issue — it is about the credibility of governance, the dignity of educators, and the survival of Punjab’s government colleges,” Chahal warned. “If those who serve with dedication are abandoned, what message does that send to our youths? It calls on the Chief Minister to rise to the occasion and protect the sanctity of Punjab’s education system.“History will remember leaders who stood with justice when it mattered most,” Chahal said. “This is that moment.”
